Client:
Chimalli Restaurant is an independent restaurant in Washington, DC, from the Petworth neighborhood and one of the earliest clients of the Barriofied project.

My main challenge wasn't necessarily to create their logo, but to keep it as is and recreate it from a low-resolution PNG they provided because they couldn't remember who had originally designed it, but it's what they wanted.

However, if a core principle of branding is consistency, who was to say a great brand from a pixelated logo couldn't build equity?

I simplified the mark as much as they allowed and began to think of how I could use color to carry the identity.
